What is SiSAC?

Introduction

In recent years, in conjunction with Adelaide being categorised as a “regional centre” for immigration purposes, more and more Singaporeans are migrating to South Australia.

However, Singaporeans migrating to Adelaide do not have a lot of organisations to go to for contact with fellow Singaporeans for social purposes and for support. While there are clubs in other Australian cities catering for overseas Singaporeans, there is not one that is easily visible in Adelaide.

As such, this has led to the formation of such a social club for migrant Singaporeans in Adelaide. And this is the beginnings of the Singaporeans in South Australia Club (SiSAC).

The objectives of SiSAC are to
i) form connections between Singaporean migrants in South Australia; and
ii) provide support for new migrants from Singapore to South Australia

The promoters for the formation of this club are currently building up a list of contacts and possible members, which will culminate in a launch social event sometime in mid-2009.

Do have a look at the FAQs to have a general idea about Adelaide.
